I'm a web developer based in Waukee, Iowa, working at Blue Frog — a HubSpot Elite Partner marketing agency. My role has evolved into a hybrid position where I QA outsourced projects, help colleagues resolve technical blockers, and build complex CMS solutions that marketing teams actually enjoy using. I translate design comps into scalable, client-manageable components — and I love every part of it.
CMS architecture & beyond
My days are spent deep in HubSpot HubL templating, custom module creation, WordPress theme development with ACF Pro and WP Bakery, and translating designs into pixel-perfect, responsive code. I build interactive modules — ROI calculators, multi-step forms, SVG maps, video systems — that go way beyond basic templates. Recently, I've been exploring AI agents, prompt engineering, and integrating automation into development workflows.
Build for the editors
The best CMS modules are the ones content teams love using. I obsess over the editing experience — fields that make sense, defaults that work, documentation that doesn't require a developer to decode. Working across outsourced dev teams taught me that catching problems early saves everyone time. I review code like I'm the one who'll maintain it in 6 months — because sometimes I am.
